Phewww

I survived another year at work. Yahoo! October 15th could not have come any faster. This year at work wasn't particularly stressful (for me); but you can't help but feel the heat of a deadline. With Kevin not working, it actually allowed me to work more and on varying days, so I got most of my work done earlier this year. I ended up helping a lot of my coworkers with their clients. It is always nice to have one more year done and under the buckle. I feel like I am really getting the hang of my clients and I am getting fast and more efficient - always a bonus when Bonuses come around! ;)

In other news.... Kevin started working the last week of September. It has been SO nice to be a FT mom (and PT employee). I started getting the house organized, we were doing more activites together, and Charlie started to like me again. And then... Kevin was laid off! Yes, two weeks ago his boss called him in and said he wasn't a good fit. That's it. Lame. We had our pity party that night and then moved on. We both know there is a better job more suited for him. So, we are back to our old arrangement of me going to work and Kevin at home with the girls. It's not the ideal situation, but we are both grateful that I have a job and the girls are home with Dad and not in daycare! I am very excited to switch roles again in the future. Being a SAH mom is so much more fun as the girls get older!

I also have been busy with some girls in the ward putting together a Super Saturday. Our current RS didn't want to do one, so we decided to do it for them. I am so excited. Who doesn't love a SS?

Field Trip

Today we went to hike in Sunol Regional Park for preschool. The girls learned "L" for leaves and talked a little about fall. The idea was to hike to Little Yosemite. We MAYbe walked a quarter mile before we had to stop for a snack and turn around. I guess we forget that those little legs move a lot slower and get distracted more easily than us. Oh well, they had fun.

After Sunol park, I decided to go out to the Sunol Water Temple. I distinctly remember going there when I was in a preschool group. I haven't been back since. It is only open during the week, so it always was difficult to get over there. Since we were literally down the street, I couldn't not go. It is a beautiful structure. But there really isn't much else there. Too bad. It is in a beautiful area.

Did I mention...

Kevin got a job? WAHOOOO!!! This is his first week of work and he loves it (of course he does! He isn't at home anymore and he' bringing home the bacon!). I feel like we are finally moving forward to the "normal" life - aka, life where no one is in school, he works, I stay at home, and we have our evenings open to go and .... craft! It's been a long time coming! Good job Babe!

Crafting

I don't know what it is, but I just want to create! Monday night I was busy making fabric pumpkins. They were SO fast and SO easy to make. I love them. I even have enough fabric to try different pumpkins... next project!

AND, I found a little craft the girls could help me with. I saw on MS website a garland of bats. This would have been much fast if I had a cricut, but ohh well. The girls had fun painting and gluing. The pictures don't do the garland justice. It really did turn out pretty cute!

Toot Toot

I have to toot my own horn. I have NEVER made anything that I LOVED. I have never made anything just on a whim and without a pattern - until now! I got a break last night when Kevin came home from work and went to JoAnn Fabrics. I didn't intend on buying anything. But, I was just one short hour from craft night and the idea of laying out my quilt squares sounded SO boring. I perused the isles and saw a really cute decoration. I thought, "I could do that!" And I JUST DID! This isn't fancy by any means, but like I said. This is a major FIRST in my life. And the best part- it cost less than $10! Toot Toot!

You Know What...

I love? I love my kids! Every now and then I just am overcome with how stinkin cute they are! And most of the time, I am quick enough to pull out my camera and take some pics or a video. This was one of those times. They are so stinkin cute! And man, do they love the camera!

Hair Cuts

I am cheap. I know it. But, somethings (I believe) don't have to be new or store bought. Some things can be done just as well on your own as when you pay someone else to do it. Case in point: Haircuts. Chloe really didn't have hair until she was 2. Even then, it was more a wisps. Charlie's hair came in a lot quicker and Tilly, well, she has a few curls on top. Up until now, I have been giving the girls their hair cuts. It wasn't like they needed anything fancy- just a little trim. This time, I wanted to take the girls to get a "real" haircut - by someone trained to do this. Sadly, I was NOT impressed. I can give Chloe a layered cut just as good as the one she just got AND when I cut Charlie's hair, she doesn't end up looking like one of the Beetles. Oh well, I guess it's back to the home haircuts.

Surprisingly, Charlie jumped at the chance to be first... okay, not so much the wanting to be first, but at the hair cut. She was soooo good and sat so still!

Afterwards we went to the library for storytime. What a fun day!
