Blessed

I am feeling so very blessed today. Things are slowing down and I realize we are slowing coming to the end of a very bumpy ride that has been our lives for the past 3 years. I can honestly say things are good. Things are great. I am so grateful to have this reprieve before the next trial Heavenly Father so chooses to give us! We are well. We are healthy. Truly, it is the little things in life that make us happy!

Kevin will be hired permantly at VWR, Int'l as of August 1.

Pheew!!

4th of July

We had a GREAT 4th of July. We spent most of the morning doing our chores and then headed to Livermore for swimming and a BBQ. Kevin's Uncle Ron and Aunt Joc have a great pool and hosted the Andrus clan for a great BBQ. The girls were in the pool from about 2-8 pm with a break only to watch Tangled. They were having SO much fun. The only reason we did leave was we knew Tilly would crash any minute. She fell asleep on the car ride home and didn't even flinch when we put her to bed and she slept through all the fireworks.

Our court had a little get together and we arrived just before the fireworks began. When I was a child the neighbors gathered at the end of the cul-de-sac to light fireworks. Since they are (and have been for a long time) illegal, the cops usually arrive. But this time they didn't. We decided the girls were old enough to actually enjoy the night, so we let them stay up. Chloe was up past 11pm! She was fascinated with all of them.

We got the girls sparlers and they ran around the yard with the neighbor girl, Savannah, screaming, hooping and hollering, and yelling happy birthday America. It was so cute.

The girls were so cute together. They were running around the street, holding hands, watching the fireworks, and just playing. It reminded me of being that age and I was so happy they were enjoying this. Charlie may not remember this, but I think Chloe will.

Swim Lessons

I FINALLY got my rear in gear and signed the girls up for swim lessons. The last two years when I went to do it, I missed them! But this year, we did it! Chloe and Charlie did great. Chloe is much more confident in the water now and can swim pretty well as long as she is in the shallow end. I think as long as she can touch the bottom she feels she can swim. She won't go in deep water unless she is with someone or wearing a life jacket - which is okay by me! Charlie did well too, for being 3 years old. She certainly doesn't like to put her head under water, but I think she really enjoyed the lesson and feels more comfortable in the water. They had great teachers and they certainly listened to them more than they ever listened to me in the water!

Charlie refused to look at me. Her teacher was Tyler Fisher from our ward and he was GREAT with her. She is SOO timid in new situations and he was so patient with her. The first day he took her and and walked her right to the pool. So cute.

While the girls were in lessons, Tilly got some alone time in the little wading pool. She is quite the fish herself!

Happy 80th Birthday!

For Great Grandma Wilson's birthday I made this family tree "picture" for her. The most work was getting all the family information from the extended family, but once I got that - it went rather quickly! We didn't get it to her right on her 80th birthday, but soon thereafter. We sure love GGma Wilson. She and GGpa are such an inspiration to Kevin growing up and I can see why. They are the best, most loving, attentive grandparents a child could ask for. We are grateful to be a part of their posterity. We love you Grandma Wilson. Happy 80th Birthday!
